My Story
An indepth look at how mindset became a career
A fascination for understanding how things work
From as far back as I remember, I've always desired to understand how various machines and objects work. I believe this started through my tinkering as well as helping my father on home projects. I grew up sharing a similar mindset with him that almost everything in society is designed by someone and therefore with research can be understood.
I believe that my mindset, along with my schooling as an engineering student, and the ease of access to information via the internet and technology has allowed me to enhance many parts of my life. By applying this mindset and my knowledge, I have been able to self teach myself how to do many things including designing objects in Solidworks, designing this website, expanding my hobbies, and even learning how to play the guitar.
Why I chose mechanical engineering?
Growing up with the mindset to understand how things work, it's clear to see why I enjoyed "Project Lead the Way" classes in junior high and high school. Ever since my first day learning how to design things in Autodesk Inventor, I have had a prolonged interest in learning more. Couple that with my determination and work ethic. I have acquired through years of training as a hockey player you've simplified how my mind works.
Fast forward to my time in college where I am essentially flooded with information to learn. Although it can be a lot sometimes, I do enjoy what I am learning while studying mechanical engineering. Studying in a field that is so versatile could not be more of a dream for me. Now I cannot say I am a star student or a genius by any means but I believe that through my internships, various rigorous classes, as well as my personal research and learning, I have been building the basis for a meaningful and successful career as a mechanical engineer.
